Thank you so much for this! I have always been confused when it comes to writing the names of my species, as I typically prefer to use common nouns (which makes it even harder to decide). I feel more confident now. I only hope my lecturers agree (haha!).

Wow is all I can say. I seriously did not expect to find such a thorough, detailed analysis of a fundamental problem I was having while writing. Though it was written a while back, I feel the need to say thank you for your hard work and critical analysis. The work you did will be of great use to me and many others.

I couldn't agree with you more and i thank you for this post.
It made me try gnome shell again on a new Oneiric desktop. Thanks to Gnome Shell i'm ready to switch back from Linux Mint to Ubuntu.
Like you said there's no doubt it my mind Ubuntu would be better off with Gnome Shell. Not only does it look much better but i find it more usable. I particularly like the extensions that allow power users to get more of the classic functionality and i'm a huge fan of the new workspace system.

Wow, Mark, you and Tina are adventurers! Your commentary is rich in details and important stuff. The photos are awesome!
This narrative seems to be suited for a travel magazine, especially with the photos. Did you consider sending it to a publisher, even National Geographic maybe!!!

We love you!

I was wondering why OOo hasn't had any updates recently...

It took me months to talk management into using OOo as an alternative to MS Office. I finally got permission to being a pilot program on a couple of dozen workstations. I had even purchased OpenOffice Enterprise in order to manage the OOo through Active Directory. Unfortunately converting more PCs to OOo will now be more difficult because of this news.

I totally agree with you. The split could weaken both OOo and LibreOffice and potentially drive end-users back to MS Office. From a technical perspective OpenOffice is a very stable product. And with Sun backing OOo, management had a big company for name recognition. Ditto with Oracle but Microsoft groupies will surely use the break up to strengthen their argument for continuing the use of MS Office in the corporate environment.
